Its Smart to be Simpler
Here goes our first article which is the main base of usability.
i.e. Simpler the better is the thumb rule for every successfull site.
Keep it Simple
You can use web design tools to display animation, play sounds, and even allow for user interaction. Unfortunately, most people are not looking for entertainment (unless your site truly provides entertainment), but instead are looking for content - information that helps them solve some sort of problem. Know what problem your trying to solve for your audience and develop the content accordingly. Avoid information overload!
Flashiness is a Turn-off
Unless you're selling web design services, nobody is interested in how many web design tricks you can pull out of your hat. Use bells and whistles sparingly, they are generally an eye sore and drive people away from your site.
The Internet is Still Slow
You may have a very fast on-ramp to the internet through your phone company or cable provider. But do not assume that the people looking at your site will also have a fast connection. If you have a web site with many graphics, it may take a long time to load on a person's browser. If the site takes too long to load, the person will likely stop waiting and move on to another site. Design your site so that it will load as quickly as possible. Avoiding high-end graphics is one way to mitigate this problem.
